About the candidate
This is a new position in the organization which has arisen as part of our plans to centralize the finance function.

Overview of responsibilities

Safeguard the interest of the company by ensuring that vendor invoices are according to our PO terms.
Resolve issues/problems with vendors and our supply chain team
Maximizing opportunities to claim early payment discounts.
Control advances/prepayments
Ensuring compliance with HST/GST, QST, PST requirements
Assist the Accounting Manager in preparing HST/GST, QST, PST returns and cash flow planning
Assist the Accounting Manager with cash flow planning.
Work with vendor relations team to manage vendor rebates



The ideal candidate should have the following qualities

Strong knowledge of accounting, a degree in accounting would be very desirable.
Around 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
working knowledge of indirect taxation - GST/HST/QST/PST
Problem solving skills
Ability to work well with people as there will be a lot of interaction with vendors, supply chain team and vendor relations team
Multitask as the candidate will eventually be servicing regional office all over Canada
Prioritize conflicting demands
Has the ability to think outside the box to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the AP function
Works calmly under pressure
