Dental Office Admin Assistant - Victoria, BC

Where would successful, creative and operational teams be without that super organized and effective administrative assistant who keeps them on track? The Administrative Assistants role is to bring a level of organization and structure to the day to day operations of the office.

What you will get to do:
-Collect, sort, distribute and prepare mail, messages and courier deliveries;
-File and maintain records;
-Greet persons entering establishment, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations;
-Hear and resolve complaints from customers and public;
-Operate telephone switchboard to answer, screen and forward calls, providing information, taking messages and scheduling appointments;
-Perform administrative support tasks such as proofreading, transcribing handwritten information, and operating calculators or computers to work with pay records, invoices, balance sheets and other documents;
-Process and prepare memos, correspondence, travel vouchers, or other documents;
-Provide information about establishment such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization, or services provided;
-Receive payment and record receipts for services;
-Transmit information or documents to customers, using a computer, mail, or facsimile machine.
-Receive training and assume a role in treatment pre-determinations and liaising

Helpful background experience & education:

-2 years of experience in a Dental Reception position, specifically dealing with a variety of dental insurance companies and accepting assignments from the client and their dental insurance
-Strong communication skills with the ability to actively listen to clients issues and are able to adjust actions in relation to others actions
-Friendly and upbeat attitude when it comes to dealing with clients face to face and over the phone.
-Ability to handle difficult situations and control anger and avoid aggressive behavior
-Strong knowledge of Microsoft office suite
