Our client, a leading Aerospace parts manufacturing company, is looking for an Operations Manager to join their team in the GTA.

Position Summary:
Responsible for ensuring that all production, shipping, cost, quality, and safety goals are met. Maintains authority over budget and scheduling. Evaluates subordinates performance. Responsible for achievement of performance objectives and product quality.


Some of the job duties include but are not limited to:



· Under indirect supervision, oversees the integrated day to day operations of the plant’s operations and engineering initiatives and activities.

· Reviews production schedules, determines work force requirements, and monitors production capacity to ensure customer requirements are met.

· Troubleshoots production problems and takes preventive or corrective action.

· Recommends changes to improve quality, simplify work and reduce costs.

· Plans and maintains production schedules to ensure on time delivery.

· Measures progress by established standards of performance.

· Recognizes and solves problems affecting production including schedules, staff, quality, equipment and order of production line. Also manage facilities and equipment maintenance.

· Oversee and direct daily plant operations including manufacturing and production planning; Co-ordinate plant operations, manufacturing activity to attain production goals; purchasing and customer service.

· Develop and implement operating methods and procedures to improve scheduling, improve product quality and reduce costs;

· Co-ordinate with quality control to ensure consistent application of quality standards

· Liaise with Production Planners to ensure production goals are attained;

· Liaise with health and safety committee to ensure a safe working environment and all plant rules and policies are observed;

· Recommend changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiencies;

· Verifies and approves invoices for payment in accordance with plant/company policies and procedures

· Support to the Production Managers, Supervisors and Team Leaders to co-ordinate the flow of materials by: ensuring all machine operators are properly trained, work tasks are clearly defined, ensuring tools and equipment are in place as required and making the raw materials available as needed;

· Enhance upon the existing positive employee relationships that have been created within the Company.




Required Experience:


Seven to ten years of manufacturing management experience including supervision;
Experience in a job shop environment;
Experience in a machining, fabrication and assembly environment
ISO 9002 or As 9000 experience


Level of Education:


Possess post-secondary education preferably a Bachelor in Engineering
