Production Supervisor Job in Fort Saskatchewan, AB

We are currently looking to fill a full time Production Supervisor in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of production plant experience within the agriculture industry and a Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Food Science, Chemistry or Mechanical. Production plant experience in Mining, Oil Feed Processing, Bio Fuels/Products, Pulp/Paper, Pharmaceutical, and Food/Beverage will also be considered.

Production Supervisor Job Responsibilities:

Day-to-day leadership, supervision, and co-ordination of the crush plant production staff to achieve required production and quality standards in a safe and efficient manner
Promoting and maintaining positive working relationships within the production group.
Trains, directs and develops hourly subordinates to meet the operating requirements of the production plant.
Works with production and maintenance staff to resolve work problems and maintains and improves productivity and efficiency.
Resolves employee issues within the production department.
Follows up on action required for compliance with departmental audits such as GMP, HACCP, safety and environmental issues.
Maintains a high standard for the plant housekeeping program.
Ensures compliance with our client’s safety policies by production staff and contractors at all times.
Ensures environmental compliance related to plant operations.

Production Supervisor Job Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Food Science, Chemistry or Mechanical.
APEGA or ASET association/membership is a definite asset
Ability to work a rotational schedule of 4 shifts on, 3 shifts off, 12 hour shifts
An understanding of Engineering concepts is required
Proven leadership and supervisory skills within a team-oriented environment.
Demonstrated success in the application of safety standards, compliance with safety regulations, and the promotion of a safe working environment.
Demonstrated oral, written, and listening skills.
Demonstrated commitment and attention to principals of a safe & healthy work environment.
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of personal computers and related business software such as Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes.
