Do you want to join a winning team within an organization that is a leader in their industry? Our client is currently seeking a QC Inspector for their dynamic facility in Ajax, ON.

The QC Inspector will manage all aspects of the quality assurance program according to Company in additional to Regulatory/Legislative standards and requirements, working closely with operations personnel (on the plant floor) to deliver on all Quality Control Performance Indicators (KPI?s).
They will lead a team of qualified personnel to accomplish department goals. This position reports to the Plant Manager.
Responsibilities of The QC Inspector:
The QC Inspector?s primary functions are to verify and document quality of products and materials (both incoming and finished products) used in all stages of packaging process, as well as to verify adherence of packaging processes and employee practices to company procedures, standards and regulations.

*Provide on the job training at the start of new jobs, as well as on the job training for new employees as directed by the QC Supervisor and in coordination with the production supervisor.

*Provides routine quality checks as required by schedule and requirements specific for each job

*Provides set ups, adjustments, verification and required documentation for quality assurance related equipment (ex. Metal detectors, check weighers, barcode readers etc.) as required by applicable procedures regulations or instructions

*Records readings of process or environment monitoring devices and takes actions as required by applicable procedures when those readings are out of specs.

*On ongoing basis provides verification of conformity of product coding and labeling requirements

*Collects retain samples and records required information as per applicable procedures.

*Monitors rejected or quarantined product status and ensures that proper documentation is provided for these products.

*The QC Inspector is familiar with label design/printing software and prepares/prints labels as required.

*Reports immediately all quality issues to the Quality Assurance Supervisor or the Plant Manager

*Other jobs as assigned by the Plant Manager

*The QC Inspector has the authority to:

*To halt productions immediately if there is a quality issue which results in the need for rework or until the management can assess the situation

*To place non-confirming product or materials on holds if conditions described in procedure QSP-038 exist

*Liaise with the QC Supervisor or the Plant Manager or Quality issues/concerns

*Bring to the GM?s attention and quality related issues or concerns which are not being addressed at the plant management level.

Requirements of the QC Inspector:

*Minimum of 3 years of management/supervisory experience in Food and Beverage Packaging.

*SQF and/or HACCP Training

*Expert knowledge of requirements of applicable regulatory agencies, standards, legislation, etc.

*Strong interpersonal and communications skills to interact effectively with all functions and levels within the Plant.

*Effective planner and organizer to meet agreed upon business objectives.

*Leadership/ Management skills to effectively manage people, delegate, plan and organize to meet business needs.

*Excellent problem solving skills and highly analytical with solid mathematical skills.

*Proficient with use of office automation tools- Microsoft Excel and Word - for analysis, communication and effective organization of work.
