Turnaround Planner Mechanical/Piping Planner - multiple positions
The Turnaround Mechanical/ Piping Planner job in Edmonton, AB is a full time contract position with our Oil & Gas client. In this role, the TA Planner will work with project engineering personnel and construction personnel in the development of construction plans / schedules. Candidates will be required to have a minimum of 5 years? experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities of the Turnaround Planner Mechanical/Piping Planner include:
- Develops job specific plans following client standards.
- Performs risk assessments of work to be performed.
- Develops job specific estimates at appropriate levels of confidence based on usage.
- Administers Turnaround and Construction cost control processes.
- Administers work identification and addendum processes for specific turnaround areas or projects.
- Works with refinery personnel in the development of various work scopes.
- Works with project engineering personnel and construction personnel in the development of construction plans / schedules.
- Develops and maintains equipment libraries files in SAP for subsequent planning/estimating requirements.
- Takes a lead role when working with contract personnel that support the planning efforts.
- May be required to move up to a coordinator role during T/A window


- 5 years of skilled-trades background, industrial maintenance experience or equivalent
combination of experience.
- Experienced with repair methods specific to refinery equipment.
- Demonstrated planning skills specific to maintenance, turnarounds or construction.
- Specific knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, preference given to those already knowledgeable of SAP PM & PS modules.
- Demonstrated Q1 mindset with a focus on doing work safely and efficiently.
- Can work in a fast paced, high stress environment for extended periods of time during turnaround execution periods.
- Able to work as a team player in a multi-discipline environment
- Comfortable leading meetings and speaking to groups of people.
- Ability to work as an independent contractor in Canada
- Ability to work 9hr days
