Occupational Therapist Job in Alberta
We are on the hunt to fill an Occupational Therapist in Fort McMurray, AB. The ideal candidate will have an Undergraduate Degree in a health related discipline such as Kinesiology, Ergonomics and/or Occupational Therapy.
Occupational Therapist job responsibilities:
*Provide direction and support to our client?s business division, with customization and execution of workplace musculoskeletal soft-tissue injuries prevention program.
*Assist management with client services that address the physical, psychosocial and behavioral issues related to injury or illness.
*Actively participate in data collections, analysis and reporting, continuous quality improvement, education and training of our client?s employees.
*Assess, recommend and develop an integrated model of Safe Work Practices and employee wellness
*Investigate Work Place Safety incidents related to soft-tissue injuries and advise on hazard control measures.
*Develop, deliver and implement ergonomic services, including but not limited to office ergonomic assessments, incident investigations, ergonomic policy development and design.
*Provide advisory support to leaders and employees on a variety of issues such as employee wellness, occupational health and safety and work place safety.
*Collect information, analyze and make recommendations to management on Safe Work Practices.
*Assist internal clients with the identification of emerging occupational health and safety issues in their areas, develop action plans to support resolution of these issues and ensure wellness best practices are recognized.
*Provide credible advice, consultation, development and support of Physical Demands Analyses.
*Facilitate and/or organize training on Workplace safety promotion related topics.
*Contribute to the ongoing review and development of our client?s Safe Work Practices and Policies.
Occupational Therapist job qualifications:
*Undergraduate Degree in a health related discipline such as Kinesiology, Ergonomics, and/or Occupational Therapy.
*Certified Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or pursuing certification is an asset.
*3-6 years related experience in the treatment of clients/patients with work related injuries and/or occupational therapy practice experience.
*Possess knowledge of applicable regulations and legislation relating to human rights, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Personal Health Information Privacy Act etc.
*Possess experience in development of procedural documents and demonstrate effective written, oral, and nonverbal communication skills
*Experience in building and delivering training sessions is an asset
*Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task.
