Online Content Advisor

The Online Content Advisor (E-Communications) job in Mississauga, ON is a full time, long term contract position with our Oil & Gas client. In this role, the Online Content Advisor will responsible for creating, developing and managing engaging content for client branded websites. Candidates are required to have a minimum of 4 -6 years? experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities of the Online Content Advisor role include:

- Supports Sr. Advisor, Web Content in translating overarching business content strategy into digital strategies
- Implements end-to-end web project work from discovery to launch
- Responsible for implementing/designing best-in-class user experiences, information design and content based on agreed-upon project requirements


- Bachelor?s degree or equivalent in a communications-related degree; with a thorough understanding of online writing and online development principles and practices
- 4-6 years? experience specifically in an online content management role
- Digital certification in Digital Marketing or SEO (or years of experience)
- Retail and digital marketing experience an asset
- User experience professional
- Understands information design methodology: card sorting, content mapping and building information architectures or sitemaps; message architecture

Skills & Knowledge

- Prototyping and design, wireframe design, cross/omni-channel design
- Usability best practices and principles, including A/B - multivariate and segment-based testing, heuristics, cognitive walkthrough
- Understands and employs user-center design principles and practice
- Ace writer and editor that can provide engaging content for audiences, devices and different engagement methods (e.g., infographics vs. charts) and content that is optimized for search
- Translating the overarching content strategy by providing recommendations to business teams for their online space and managing day-to-day online activities
- Working knowledge of editorial style standards and style guides a must.
- Understanding and knowledge of campaign management (CRM, lead generation, marketing automation)
- Understanding and ability to translate complex technical requirements into digital briefs, technical requirements documents and the ability to collaborate with developers to execute technically complex projects
- Experience with enterprise content management systems (SiteCore or RedDot preferred)
- Understanding of mobile/responsive and application design and content strategy
- Excellent project management skills
- Pro-active and self-learner
- Able to meet tight deadlines and juggle multiple project priorities
- Possess a friendly, positive, can-do attitude and ability to provide excellent client service and a team player
- Ability to interpret data and apply learnings to overall web content strategy
- Must love testing (testing devices and browsers)
- Must be able to work as an Independent Contractor
- Bilingual French/English not required, however would be considered an asset
