Controller| $100K+ l Richmond, BC l Permanent

Adecco Professional has partnered with a leading property development company to seek for a Controller ensure all operational financial and reporting functions for the Finance department including accounting, audit and taxation, cost control and cash management are met.

To help achieve the Company’s financial goals, the Controller must work in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders to successfully manage the Company’s day to day activities.


Managing day-to-day operations of the Finance department
Coaching, mentoring and developing Finance staff
Responsible for month-end accounting process and financial reporting
Responsible for the external review process including yearend working papers and related tax filings
Responsible for compliance with all statutory reporting requirements and legislation
Managing the short term cash management process
Ensuring adequate internal controls are in place to adequately protect Company assets Preparing and analyzing the annual budgeting process
Responsible for ensuring the job costs are properly accounted for
Communication with auditors, banks, CRA
Collaborating with the VP Finance to ensure financial systems and processes are in place to meet the needs of the business
Providing timely and accurate financial information, detailed analysis, management reporting and short term cash flow forecasts, as required
Providing Manager and other stakeholders with the necessary information to support the decision making process
Assistance with Human Resources and payroll support, if required
Providing support to VP Finance in the areas of tax planning, financing strategies, corporate restructuring, IT and administration
Collaborating with Manager to ensure the Finance team is meeting the needs of the business and structured for the future
Providing back up coverage for the VP Finance and Finance staff, as required


Post-secondary degree in business or accounting
Professional accounting designation
Minimum 5 years of experience at a senior accounting level
Strong knowledge of business management principles involved in development and production construction management
Strong computer skills including MS Office and Timberline
