CFO/Controller| Up to $140K+ l Victoria, BC l Permanent

As a key member of the Executive Management team, the Chief Financial Officer will report to the President and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, legal and tax matters, property management, banking relationships, information technology, purchasing and human resources related activities. The CFO will partner with the President to plan company growth, measure company results and define practices and procedures to better control operational procedures and protect/grow the large privately owned company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Others may be assigned.

Oversee the finance team to ensure all financial accounting procedures are completed on a timely basis including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and month end close. Assure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles in all jurisdictions the company has operations.
Manage expense policy and maintain sufficient cash requirements to support business operations and growth plans.
Direct internal controls to ensure assets are safeguarded & results are accurately reported.
Generate and monitor monthly and yearly budgets to enhance planning and measure performance.
Report monthly results relative to plan. Provide guidance to keep the company on track to goals and objectives.
Review manufacturing costs, plant utilization and operational efficiencies. Recommend best practices to improve results.
Manage and mitigate risk to the corporation and manager all legal affairs including corporate governance.
Guide and manage insurance, HR policies and company benefit practices.
Supervise IT support functions and ensure that information and communication systems are maintained and meeting operational needs.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsible for the management of Director of Finance, HR Manager, Purchasing Manager, and IT Manager. Also responsible for managing the relationship with outside accountants.


Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting or business administration. MBA or additional certifications preferred.
10+ years in financial positions with a career path of progressively increasing levels of responsibility.
Experience with manufacturing businesses of similar size and scope.
Experience with ERP software implementation
