A Production Test Technician job is currently available in Oakville,Ontario. The selected candidate will, ideally have a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree or Electrical technology with at least 3 years’ relevant experience with a focus in power systems. This is a great opportunity for to work for a solid reputable company in Mississauga. This is a temporary position 1-2 months

Responsibilities of the Production Test Technician include:


The position of Production Test Technician will report to the Supervising Engineer, Test Department and is responsible for testing of protection and control systems, panels and products. The specific duties for the position of Production Test Technician are listed below.
 Ensure that the correct components are installed as identified in the Bills of Materials and the test stamped drawings issued by the Project Designer/Engineer
 Record all the part numbers and the serial numbers of the components which are required for the test reports
 Perform routine production tests of panels, systems and products such as point-to-point, hi-pot and functional testing to verify that the device or system functions correctly as defined by the design drawings and specifications
 Prepare Test templates using Excel or Word, to record the test results
 Review the operating manuals and test methods recommended by the manufacturers of the components/devices installed in the panel
 Ensure all relevant reports and records are completed neatly and accurately
 Issue Non Conformance Reports for any failures/rejections found during testing
 Ensure the completed tested Product/Project strictly meets Quality requirements
 Follow all health and safety procedures and instructions to areas of work that require energized devices and systems under test
 Plan the work assigned to ensure that Project deadlines are met
 Complete special testing such as CSA inspection tests depending on project requirements
 Perform Customer Acceptance Test or Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) as and when required by the Project
 Complete Site Testing and Commissioning of protection and control systems
 Undertake assembly and wiring or other specific tasks by exception as directed by the supervisor
 Perform other related duties that assist in the maintenance of all testing systems, as assigned


Qualifications of the Production Test Technician:

 Experience working with AC & DC electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, Bill of Materials
 Proven ability to use various types of instruments in testing AC & DC power system applications
 Testing/commissioning experience would be an asset
 Electrical design and CAD experience, would be asset
 Excellent written and oral communication skills
