NORTHERN ONTARIO

An opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced Mine Maintenance Supervisor to play a key role in of the major divisions in Northern Ontario. The role is a key strategic management position within their Mining Operations division and would be responsible for managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Manager, the Mine Maintenance Supervisor/Superintendent will be responsible for managing various technical services supporting all maintenance activities including maintenance planning, reliability engineering, continuous improvement projects and computerized management systems. This responsibility is fulfilled by leading a staff of planners, technologists and engineers so that they function as a cohesive, coordinated, goal directed department.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversees the management of CMMS, all maintenance planning activities and reliability and project engineering solutions
Manages the electrical, mechanical and technical teams within the Process Plant Maintenance Group
Manages the maintenance cost of responsible areas effectively, including capital projects
Ensures maintenance engineering activities are aligned with approved maintenance process to achieve the Maintenance Department vision
Drives continuous improvement throughout the department by analyzing and implementing continuous improvement activities
Establishes and maintains engineering best practices with regards to maintenance and projects
Identifies needs for and initiates reliability engineering programs and promotes pro-active maintenance activities
Coordinate the development of annual maintenance budget
Recommends staffing requirements and participates in the recruitment process


Requirements:

Degree or diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering
Professional engineering license is a major asset
Minimum of 10 years of Mine Maintenance experience within a mining environment
Minimum of 5 years of experience at the Superintendent or Management level
Experience in maintenance process facilities
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong leadership and team building skills
