The Reliability Engineering Lead - C&SU job near Fort McMurray, Alberta is a full time contract position with our Oil &Gas client. The role of the C&SU reliability leads is to support, manage and lead a team of reliability discipline engineers during the Commissioning and Start-Up phase of Fixed Plants Assets

Responsibilities of the Reliability Engineering Lead - C&SU job include:

- Supports MPG Integrity Assurance Program prior to Project Mechanical Completion and C&SU Fixed Plants teams during Commissioning and Start-Up
- Supports Turnover documentation reviews, C&SU procedures review, Pre-Commissioning activities, Pre-walkdowns (to determine early punches) & Surveillance walkdowns
- Management of Change Process, Pre-Safety Startup Reviews Reliability section conformance and sign-off, Lock-Out/Tag-Out engineering support
- Participates on safety assessments for specifics areas, audit proper equipment preservation strategies execution post TCCC and prior to First Oil, and supports Equipment strategy development process with site data gathering as required.
- Works in collaboration with the C&SU Area Teams to identify potential construction and design deficiencies.
- This position will focus on safe and reliable Commissioning process of Fixed Plants Assets


- Degree in engineering with a minimum of 15 years of experience (8 to 10 years on Commissioning and/or supporting Operations) in oil sands extraction, refining, upgrading, or petrochemical industry, preferably in plant environment
- P.Eng. or eligibility for registration with APEGGA
- Working knowledge of commissioning & start up processes, and reliability engineering principles and concepts
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and execute with limited supervision
- Excellent interpersonal/negotiation skills with strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong computer skills are required for this position
- Ability to work as a contractor in Alberta

*This is a site based rotational role on a 7/7 schedule. Fly in Fly out only from Edmonton or Calgary, Camp accommodations provided.
