The Simulator Training Coordinator-Primary Extraction job near Fort McMurray, Alberta is a full time contract position with our Oil & Gas client. In this role, you will deliver training for the control room specialists using the Operator Training Simulator and you will work with the fixed plant training team and primary extraction leadership developing training materials for control room specialists. You must have at least 5 years training experience with simulators to be considered for this role.

Responsibilities of the Simulator Training Coordinator-Primary Extraction

- Execute the seamless delivery of the training process and learning interventions
- Steward to the Competency Management Process for area personnel
- Support appropriate systems to measure Key Performance Indicators in regards to team and client progress
- Be aligned to process and technology to accomplish goals and accountabilities
- Establish collaborative working relationships with team, peers and client groups
- Implement Strategies to support change and continuous improvement initiatives at all levels of the organization
- Maintain accurate training records and have them available to the organization through the Learning Management System (LMS)
- Facilitate document, develop and update training materials with trainers, vendors, and subject matter experts
- Identifies areas of concern where training KPI?s are not being met.
- Maintains a high level of peer trainer competency by coordinating programs to enhance their skills.
- Evaluate the instructional design, development and delivery of training programs
- Maintain LMS competency plan information and skills profile for all training including supervisor follow up activities
- Manage training performance
- Deliver and manage all initial training for control room specialists
- Work with SMEs temporary assigned to the training team


- 8-10 years refining, petrochemical, extraction and/or mineral processing experience
- 5-8 years training experience with Simulators
- 5 Year board operator experience within ore preparation plant (OPP) facilities and/or primary extraction
- A strong understanding of effective blended learning principles and in adult education
- Strong understanding of business processes and tools
- Previous experience in a training and development business process and its ongoing management
- Understanding of industrial environments and Oil and Gas industry experience
- Strong understanding of LMS or related experience in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Attention to detail and a commitment to consistency and quality
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to respond to challenging deadlines

*This is a site based rotational role on a 7/7 schedule. Fly in Fly out only from Edmonton or Calgary, Camp accommodations provided.
