AM 158 – Intermediate to Senior Environmental Scientist

Our client is a multi-disciplined global company offering services mainly within the wet infrastructure sector – providing services to a full range of water related projects and programs ranging from water supply, treatment and storage, dams, water management for the natural resources industry and coastal restoration to renewable power and environmental services.

The Intermediate / Senior Environmental Scientist role is to help lead the Southeast Saskatchewan environmental operations.

Responsibilities:

- Environmental project management
- Environmental regulatory compliance
- Environmental monitoring
- Phase I, II and III environmental site investigations and detailed site assessments
- Spill response and assessment
- Technical design of remediation and reclamation programs for the oil and gas industry and commercial property transactions
- Supervision and organization of crews to complete field remediation and reclamation activities
- Reviewing technical reports
- Application of ground disturbance protocol
- Mentorship of junior staff
- Contribute to overall business development
- Budgeting and cost tracking
- Liaising with regulators and clients

Qualifications:

- University degree or college diploma in environmental science or a related discipline
- Related industry experience
- Must be knowledgeable of remediation and reclamation techniques and associated equipment
- Familiarity with federal and provincial environmental guidelines and criteria applicable to site remediation and reclamation
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong technical report writing skills
- The ability to prepare budgets and track costs
- Professional designation is desirable
- Experience completing spill assessments and interpreting laboratory analytical results in comparison to appropriate guidelines would be considered an asset.

Work location is: Saskatchewan
