Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager will provide guidance and leadership on various human resources matters aimed at helping to achieve organizational objectives. This position works as a strategic partner to provide guidance and coaching to business units in support of their business needs.


*Effectively collaborate with senior leadership and functional teams to implement HR initiatives in support of the business direction

*Provide HR leadership, coaching and advice to support the leadership team(s)

*Lead HR processes for client groups(s) including organizational design, succession planning, leadership and employee development, change management, performance management etc.

*Analyze trends and interpret HR metrics such as headcount management, turnover etc.

*Manage and lead complex projects and manage multiple tasks with competing priorities.

*Partner with businesses on developing union negotiation strategy and build strong relationships with union leaders and represented employees

*Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to operations

*Manage employee development and training programs and recruitment and selection activities

*Ensure compliance with WSIB and WCB requirements

*Participate in the design and administration of the full employee lifecycle programs, including benefits and pension programs, compensation, performance management, succession planning etc.

* Facilitate and conduct presentations and/or workshops, as required

*Other duties as assigned


*Bachelor degree in Human Resource Management with a minimum of 8 to 10 years union negotiation experience

*Thorough knowledge of the OES, Human Rights, Labour Relations Act, Union Negotiation and other employment related legislation

*Experience working in a unionized environment

*Demonstrated ability to eliminate roadblocks and improve processes for successful execution

*A strong track record of client support/partnerships

*Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization - ability to collaborate, negotiate, facilitate and resolve conflicts

*Exceptional, clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, including listening

*Experience in organizational change management is essential

*Proven and confident presentation and facilitation skills

*Intermediate level of skills in Microsoft Office
