Our client in Richmond Hill, ON is looking for an experience HR Generalist to join their growing team.

The HR Generalist will be responsible for resolving employee relations issues, implementing HR programs, policies and procedures, and providing excellent client service to our internal and external stakeholders. The HR Generalist will have opportunity to work directly with all levels of staff, and will become a trusted source for HR policies, programs and processes.

As well, the ideal candidate will be self-motivated, confident, and be able to take initiative when required to make appropriate decisions, as well as exercise good judgement.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Management & Employee Relations

*Handle general employee relations issues or concerns, providing advice to managers and employees, under the guidance of the HR Director and Business Partner;

*Play an active role in administering and delivering HR processes including the performance management, leadership & employee development, change management, etc.;

*Provide guidance to management and employees in the interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures, collaborating with HR Operations, Payroll and other partners;

*Assist in the termination/resignation process by conducting exit interviews, and ensuring all paperwork is complete;

*Maintain and assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures, and communications to inform managers and employees;

*Stay current with updates in HR and employment legislation

*Proactively research, analyze, and identify appropriate resources to resolve issues;


Talent Onboarding and Development

*Lead new hire orientation to ensure successful onboarding of all new hires;

*Participate in employee engagement and retention programs;

*Assist in the implementation of various development initiatives;

*Assist with the collection and preparation of information for talent review and succession planning;

*Update corporate organizational charts for succession planning;


Research, Reporting, and Metrics

*Administer and coordinate employee surveys, such as our New Hire and Exit Surveys, as well as provide reports on findings;

*Analyze data and aggregate results into coherent, sophisticated reports and presentations to aid in decision making;

*Leverage HR systems to retrieve data for various reporting needs;

*Research HR best practices in the development of initiatives, programs and policies;


Skills and Experience Required

*3 to 5+ years Human Resources generalist experience;

*University and/or college education, preferably in a discipline related to Human Resources;

*Knowledge of employment legislation across provinces, employee relations and HR best practices;

*Resourceful logical thinker and process-oriented with excellent attention to detail;

*Proven interpersonal skills (e.g. tact, diplomacy) with ability to build strong relationships across multiple levels;

*Should have strong communication skills including excellent written documentation abilities; Accountability to deliver expected outcomes and initiatives and act on opportunities for improvement, with a track record of execution;

*Demonstrate sound judgement to collaborate with internal partners and work independently;

*Strong ability to synthesize information, analyze data & provide summary of analysis;

*Demonstrated ability to balance conflicting priorities of demanding and diverse client groups within a changing environment;

*Advanced skill level in MS applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio and Outlook);

*Experience with HR systems

*CHRP/CHRL designation or being in pursuit of the designation is considered an asset
