Adecco is currently hiring for a Legal Assistant in Downtown Toronto, ON. To qualify for this Legal Assistant role, you must have 2+ years of experience in civil litigation, completion of legal secretarial diploma, a solid understanding of the civil litigation process, excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and excellent Microsoft/PC skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes). Our client is a highly professional financial services organization. This Legal Assistant role is a 12-month contract and has a pay rate of $23.00 per hour.

Legal Assistant Responsibilities:
• Responsible for typing legal documents, including civil court documentation
• Responsible for compiling affidavit of documents, records, and briefs,
• Composes and/or type correspondence and reports
• Responsible for assisting lawyers with schedules and deadlines during litigation process
• Schedule meetings, make travel arrangements
• Responsible for communicating with internal and external contacts
• Responsible for maintaining database of file information for tracking reporting purposes
• General office administration duties including faxing, scanning, photocopying, filing, mail distribution
• Responsible for assisting with office administration, including general office administration, administrative support and backup support, and office supplies

Legal Assistant Qualifications:
• Completion of legal secretarial diploma
• 2+ years of experience in civil litigation
• Solid understanding of civil litigation process
• Excellent team player
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Strong client focus and commitment to quality service and product outcomes
• Excellent PC and Microsoft Office application skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes)
• Proven experience in a similar administrative role
• Excellent organizational and priority-setting skills
• Demonstrates the ability to work with independence on assigned tasks in a timely manner
• Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment where confidentiality is essential
