Adecco is currently hiring for a Maintenance Technician for our client in Pickering, ON. To qualify for the Maintenance Technician opportunity you must have 3+ years of previous working experience in a similar role in an industrial environment along with a trade certificate. This is a permanent opportunity.

Position Summary:
Responsible for maintaining the facility and machines

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Schedule and perform regular maintenance of equipment
• Liaise with outside service providers as required
• Responsible for the continuous improvement of production facilities; preventative maintenance to reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns; develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes
• Design maintenance strategies, procedures and methods; Write maintenance strategies to help with installation and commissioning guidelines
• Diagnose breakdown problems
• Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment; Monitor and control maintenance costs
• Clean and maintain work area by supporting 5S program
• All other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Competencies:
• 3 + years of previous working experience in an industrial environment performing mechanical maintenance

Working Conditions:
• Work is normally performed in a manufacturing environment
• Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch
• The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Corrected hearing and vision to normal range
• Use of office equipment including computers, etc.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as hard hat, safety shoes, safety goggles, ear plugs, fitted dust mask, etc. as required

Level of Education:
• A Certificate of Qualification in an Electrical or Mechanical trade
