Roevin Engineering and Technical is currently hiring for a permanent Tooling Manager in Windsor, Ontario. To be considered for this Tooling Manager role, you must a valid Tool & Die Maker License. Tool Manager Responsibilities:

Direct all functions, related to production in tool room departments.
Implements continuous safety and good housekeeping standards.
Establish tool room schedule for toolmakers on daily work order to ensure production schedule is met at all times.
Assign tool room personnel to help with set ups as needed.
Follow production schedule and ensure all dies are ready and sensored for production.
Responsible to ensure the correct die is sent to production, as well as the correct punches, i.e. chisel, flat, etc. Ensure that all tooling is production ready; i.e. die inspection sheet completed, die and punches are sharpened.
Troubleshot problem dies as needed.
Schedules tool sharpening and or repairs, to ensure an efficient department.
Maintains the Die database, ensuring that is kept up to date.
Order die materials and ensure timely delivery.
Perform daily and weekly planning to ensure that the scheduling of material, personnel, and products are utilized in the most cost effective manner. Set up rigorous PM schedule by die by hit in tool room.
Ensure that all production paperwork is completed on a timely basis; including, but not limited to production reports and efficiency reports, payroll records, etc.
Complete monthly and yearly tool room budget by die and overall tool room spending.
Maintains strict confidentiality and data integrity.
Have a sense of ownership for deliverables
Ensures daily safety shift audits are performed within the department and report findings to Plant Manager & Human Resources Manager
Institute and maintain 5S policies and procedures in tool room.
Participate in advanced product quality planning (APQP) and team feasibility meetings.
Build confidence in the associates and provide one-on-one and team coaching
Implements/enforces corporate policies and work rules
Support Continuous Improvement initiatives in tool room on shop floor processes.
Set clear direction and energize the team to support the plant's goals and objectives.
Foster a team environment by clearly defining and communicating to associates their impact on individual and team performance.
Trains, develops, and evaluates employees.

Tooling Manager Qualifications:

Valid Licensed Tool & Die Maker.
Minimum of 10 years experienced as a Licensed Tool & Die Maker.
Minimum of 3-5 5 years' experience as a supervisor.
Ability to read and understand production drawings, good knowledge of measuring tools and product tolerances. Working knowledge of modern manufacturing techniques, such as Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement.
Strong technical background must include knowledge of sheet metal stamping processes and equipment, including punch presses, automatic presses, stamping presses, tooling, etc.
Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent analytical skills
Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment.
Communicates effectively with all associates.
Excellent knowledge of modern manufacturing techniques, such as Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement.
