Our client, a major Food Manufacturing company, is looking for a full time Permanent Project Engineer to join their team in Hamilton, ON.

The Project Engineer will be responsible for the development and execution of Capital Projects as it pertains to both facility and operational needs. This role will provide engineering services to upgrade existing equipment and support Lean Manufacturing Excellence within Maintenance. The individual must have a collaborative character with the ability to build relationships with outside contractors, internal resources and tradesmen.

Some of the tasks include but are not limited to:

Provide expertise in executing all aspects of the project lifecycle. This includes but not limited to:

Initial analysis
Equipment study/selection
Equipment and Layout design
Business case development
Installation/Start-up support
Final Approval

Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure technical issues are identified, documented, and resolved in a timely manner. Must communicate all changes to plant personnel.
Execute improvements to existing manufacturing processes and systems to improve plant OEE and build Lean Manufacturing Excellence
Ensure quality, safety and food manufacturing standards are adhered to and identified in all projects. This includes the involvement of plant personnel in design reviews.
Develop line rates and ensure equipment is capable of running to standard.
Responsible for planning the execution of maintenance work orders with support from the Maintenance Supervisor
Participate in the development and tracking of Maintenance KPIs

Please, if you have the following skills/expertise, we will be looking forward to your application:

4 - 6 years Engineering experience preferably in a fast paced food-manufacturing environment.
Engineering Degree or Engineering Technologist Diploma (Mechanical / Industrial / Electrical).
Knowledge of food processing would be considered an asset.
Excellent work ethic, attendance and organizational skills.
Must have excellent computer knowledge, proficient in MS Office, solid to advanced spreadsheet skills combined with strong analytical and problem solving skills. SAP would be an asset.
Strong oral and written communications.
Must be able to develop and manage project budgets.
Six-Sigma training or project experience would be an asset.
