Adecco is currently hiring a Referral Clerk for our client located at the West End of Ottawa, ON. Our client is a highly professional entity specialized within the medical stream.
The successful Referral Clerk should have a general understanding of medical terminologies and accurate fast typing skills. The successful candidate will be going into a an initial contract of 2 months with possibility of extension.

This position is ideally a Monday to Friday. However, the successful candidate must be flexible when it comes to scheduling. the hours are 8 hours per day, usually ranging between 8am-8pm. Nevertheless, the initial training period will be daytime to start, while training and working with the Contact Centre Manager

The Referral Clerk will be responsible for:

- The clerk will be responsible for confirming and booking with the appropriate specialist or program schedule for internal referrals
-the clerk would be responsible for monitoring any faxes that did not complete, and following up to find the correct contact information or redirecting appropriately for any external referrals
-The clerk would be responsible for redirecting appropriately any rejected referrals
-Display of professional manner with great customer service skill, in order to deal with external medical offices and hospitals
- Maintains strictest confidentiality.
-Answers all telephone calls with professionalism and courtesy in a timely manner.
-Covers other areas as needed; these include but are not limited to: front desk.
-Performs other duties as requested by office manager

The Referral Clerk must meet the following mandatory requirements:

-Comfortable using computers and software, as they will be navigating our EMR (training is provided)
-A general understanding of medical terminology is definitely an asset;
-Must have a pleasant, positive and professional demeanor with good customer service skills
- Must comfortable working in fast¿paced environment
- Must have excellent attention to detail, while maintaining a productive output.
- Ability to make good decision with strong problem solving skills
-General knowledge of the geography of the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) is an asst; ad successful candidate would be booking for Ottawa and Toronto
-A general understanding of patient privacy laws is an asset but not required ¿training in place
