Our growing Mississauga client who is a leader in the automotive industry is looking for an Applications Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years experience and the following are the responsibilities:

1. To provide input to the annual and quarterly sales forecast and departmental budgets.
2. To ensure correct identification of customers needs and provide viable cost efficient proposals in a timely manner.
3. To maximize and protect the companies' profit margins while maintaining a healthy order intake.
4. To identify, promote and leverage the company strategic competitive advantage.
5. To identify marketing trends and new product development.
6. To utilize the standard machine costing system.
7. To build and promote the companies' positive long term customer relationships.
8. To support the companies' customer-centred Quality Assurance Program and ensure compliance in all areas under direct control of this position.
9. To follow company policies and procedures as per Employee Handbook.


1. Ensure Customer’s inquiries are processed in a prompt and professional manner.
2. Qualify and prioritize incoming inquiries and prepare subsequent proposals.
3. Review draft proposals and costing prior to submission with Sales Manager.
4. Prepare and create work orders. Organize and chair subsequent work order meetings.
5. Review customer purchase orders for accuracy against the company agreed proposal and standardized purchase order format.
6. Follow up with customers on the progress of outstanding proposals and determine course of actions.
7. Ensure the change notice process is followed with accurate follow-up and record keeping.
8. Stay current with market trends and industry activity.

1. College degree/diploma in Engineering + ten (5) years sales experience in a similar industry.
2. Knowledge of machine design concepts, the rollform process and cost estimating.
3. Good communication and negotiation skills.
4. Computer literate.
5. Proven organizational skills. ie. prioritize workload, scheduling customer activity etc.
6. Well developed people and analytical skills.
