Our large global networking client located in Ottawa is searching for Network Support Engineers to join its growing team in Fall 2017. Network Support Engineers will provide successful and creative solutions to end-user customers via telephone, email, and online chat. The ideal candidate is passionate about a career in networking and IT security and is a graduate from a Computer Systems Technician or related post-secondary program.

Our client is located just west of Ottawa, the nation’s capital, in the Kanata North Business Park. As one of Canada’s vibrant technology hubs, Kanata North has long been recognized as a hotbed of technology innovation. Kanata North is home to many major high-tech companies, large shopping areas, high density apartments, town homes and individual homes all surrounded by green space. The area has among the best schools in the city, a new recreation complex, hiking and biking trails, easy access to everything from downtown Ottawa to provincial parks and a reputation for safety.

Our client is offering permanent entry-level roles with many opportunities for development within the company. The base salary is $41,000 annually plus shift premiums; 10% for evenings and 15% for overnights. The office is a 24/7 environment and offers fixed shifts. Our client offers in-house training for certifications, free lunches for every shift, and overall a great place to work.

Network Support Engineer Responsibilities:

• Provide successful and creative solutions to end-user networking problems
• Quickly and efficiently research, resolve and respond to questions received via telephone calls, email, and web-based interface
• Deliver a high level of professionalism and quality of service to all users
• Maintain a detail record of problems and solutions using ticketing system
• Other related duties as required

Network Support Engineer Requirements:

• Recent graduation from a Computer Systems Technician or related post-secondary program OR three (3) years of experience specifically providing networking technical support to enterprise customers
• Experience dealing with firewalls, IDS/IPS, TCP/IP and routers
• Fluent English verbal and written communication skills; bilingualism in English and Japanese, Chinese, German or Spanish considered a definite asset
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts within a 24/7 environment (shifts will be fixed, not rotational)
• Experience with Unix/Linux and hardware troubleshooting is a definite asset
• Criminal record check will be completed
