The Program Manager will:
Participate in or take the lead role in the Quoting, Contract Review and Advance Product Quality Planning processes as required.
Liaise with the organization’s contingent of ‘outside sales’ representatives regarding the procurement of new work, support for existing work and the timely resolution to emergent and outstanding customer issues.
Provide advance notice of and legitimization to the Chief Operating Officer of any off-site meetings with customers or ‘outside sales staff’.
Collect, collate and publish in a timely manner all information regarding off-site meetings with customers and ‘outside sales staff’ using the appropriate approved documentation.
Communicate and distribute in a timely manner to the Chief Operating Officer all reports of meetings with customers and ‘outside sales staff’.
Read, generate quoting prints from and store math data.
Consult with the necessary responsible functions within and outside the organization to determine potential tool line-ups and rough blank sizes, and communicate those requirements to the relevant responsible functions within the organization during the quoting and Advance Product Quality Planning processes.
Research, develop, generate, publish and distribute for review the required information for ‘Technical Reviews’.
Present prepared information at ‘Technical Reviews’ at Customer prescribed locations.
Coordinate Programs from the award of work to the start-up of production.
Consolidate all required information for programs including math data, GD & T prints, tooling line-ups and processes.
Work closely in a leadership capacity and in a professional manner with the necessary personnel to provide for timely assignment of requisite tasks to ensure completion of APQP and PPAP requirements in keeping with the guidelines published in the Advanced Product Quality Planning Reference Manual.
Monitor the APQP, PPAP, Tool Follow Up, Tool Buy Off, Trial Run, and Run-at-Rate initiatives related to each Program.
Obtain quotes from tooling, welding equipment and fixture sources as required and present those quotes to the Chief Operating Officer.
Initiate the building of tooling, welding equipment and fixtures following the award of work by the Engineering Department.
Follow up on all awarded tooling, welding equipment and fixtures to ensure timely completion of such requirements.
Track overall program timing and guide the APQP Team in resolving short and long term programs issues and problems.
Correspond with the appropriate customer SQA, Engineering and purchasing representatives as required.
Communicate directly with the Chief Operating Officer regarding significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of organizational objectives.
Assign and monitor timely completion of policy and procedural directives in keeping with the documented quality system to ensure that Program Management objectives are met in a fiscally responsible manner.
Develop, monitor and provide timely closure to Action Plans to ensure Programs and assignments are planned and completed in a timely and fiscally responsible manner.
Explore, develop, implement and follow up on all opportunities for the continual improvement of the organization’s Program Management functions in a manner consistent with the objectives as outlined in the organization’s business and strategic plan.
Attend any other meetings as necessary when requested to do so the Chief Operating Officer to provide proactive input toward the resolution of
The Program Manager must have at least three years of direct experience in the development of Programs involving the procurement of new work and changes to existing work through interfacing with Customer purchasing, quality and engineering representatives.
Preference will be given to those with the above experience in a Tier Two automotive stamping environment
