Quality Engineer (Automotive)

Roevin Engineering and Technology is searching for an automotive Quality Engineer in Maple, ON with a background in Tier 1 automotive parts and assemblies. To be considered for this Quality Engineering role, you must have 5+ years experience automotive industry quality engineering ideally with plastics.


QUALIFICATIONS - Program Manager:

- 5+ years experience as a quality engineer in the automotive industry.
- Tier 1 automotive experience
- Engineering Degree
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and analytical abilities
- Ability to read and interpret automotive engineering drawings and GD&T
- Knowledge of statistical techniques, SPC and charting, measurement systems analysis.
- Experience with dimensional measurement techniques.
- Good working knowledge of SQC / SPC techniques and relevant computer applications
- Lean manufacturing experience


RESPONSIBILITIES - Program Manager:

- Manage program quality by establishing front-end quality assurance on new programs; completing Supplier and Customer sampling and control plan requirements; directing the dimensional control of on-going programs; ensuring that all products shipped meet all Customer dimensional, material and systems specifications or documented deviations to those specifications, all at minimum cost.
- Independently design, execute and evaluate quality systems particular to assigned products, such as control plans, etc. Original thought is required on check fixture designs, Customer sampling plans and paperwork, evaluation of suppliers PPAP and the meeting of Customers changing requirements
- Be an active member of the APQP team; Complete all APQP tasks as required; Assist in GD&T determination; Identify SPC (Statistical Process Control) requirements; PPAP (Product Part Approval Process).
- Obtain Customer approvals on all parts and quality systems, and ensure that they meet appropriate Customer requirements and retain documentation of same.
- Visit assembly plants and issue trip reports.
- Compliance to TS16949 and ISO14001 requirements.
