Adecco is currently assisting our client in the recruitment of a Manager of Business Development for a full time permanent opportunity. In this role the Manager of Business Development will be responsible for building and sustaining relationships with market participants, various industry sectors, external customers and multi-disciplinary teams. They will also be responsible for expansion into new markets where possible.

This position will primarily focus on the Military and Government markets.

Manager of Business Development Responsibilities

Identifies new opportunities, proposing innovative plans to capture new business prospects.
Reviews project analysis and uses ESTABLISHED criteria to determine potential of new business opportunities.
Develops and prepares materials for business development, sales or management meetings.
Generates ideas for new or enhanced service opportunities or clients.
Anticipates the needs and PREFERENCES of customers and key players
Evaluates demographics, trends and issues affecting specific markets and customers and makes recommendations
Monitors proposal progress, identifies risks and creates mitigation plan as required.
Acts as main point of contact for potential client and ensures all key communication is documented appropriately.
Prepares market analysis to support evaluation of new projects and completes energy market research as required.
Conducts financial evaluations on projects and identifies where Company can recognize cost efficiencies.

Manager of Business Development Requirements

University degree and a minimum 7-10 years of experience.
Previous Military experience is a must
Knowledge and understanding of business and financial concepts, processes and practices required for making sound business decisions.
Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
A track record of vision and strategic insight into how customers might benefit from new and innovative approaches to logistics and support services.
Knowledge of business process design techniques that encourage a critical, fresh look at key processes and focus on optimizing organizational performance.
Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.
Knowledge of existing and planned markets and market-related initiatives from the perspectives of the competition, the suppliers, the customer base and the regulatory environment; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations considered an asset.
Knowledge of issues, opportunities, and challenges for conducting business in the international marketplace considered an asset.
