Multiple QA and Construction Coordinator jobs, based on site near Fort McMurray, AB are now available with our O&G owner client. These are full time contract positions on FIFO rotation for 3-4 months. To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a minimum of 7 years in Alberta Oil Sands in a Construction Coordinator role with a background in one of the relevant trades mentioned below. Camp accommodation and flights (Calgary or Edmonton hubs) are included. Independent Contractors are preferred (INC/ LTD Co.)

- E&I x2
- Civil x1
Construction Superintendent: x1
E&I Construction Coordinator: x1
Piping Construction Coordinators: x5
Civil Construction Coordinators (Fireproofing): x4
Turnover Coordinators: x2

Specific Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

-Participate in area constructability reviews as required.
-Review contractor Construction Execution Plans, schedules and manpower loading.
-Be familiar with contractor designs for Mechanical and Piping equipment work scopes to ensure all required installation procedures and specifications are properly followed.
-Review and understand contractor modularization proposals and work with contractor to ensure installation interfaces with other units/groups are taken into account.
-Review and be familiar with contractor QC programs, and Inspection and Test Plans.
-Assist and expedite the interface coordination between Operations and construction contractors.
-Monitor work completion as per schedule milestone dates and indicate deviations to construction superintendent.
-Act as Major Project’s field construction coordinator for Major Projects work packages.
-Monitor construction manpower and equipment compliance to the client site specific and OH&S procedures.
-Verify construction progress and be cognizant of any scope changes which should be clearly indicated to the Construction Superintendent and to Project Controls.
-Monitor and participate in audits with safety specialists to ensure contractor safety compliance.
-Audit contractor punch-list procedures and participate in punch listing; be a member of the pre-commissioning and system turnover team.

Health, Safety & Environment

-Comply with all Health and Safety Requirements established by the client
-Know and comply with all regulations and legislative requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act for the Province of Alberta and environmental standards
-Follow safe work procedures and ensure all personnel comply;
-Report any injury or illness immediately;
-Report unsafe acts and conditions;
-Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available and is worn where and when required.


- Construction Management Certificate or Trade Certificate is required
- Grade 12 or GED is required, post-secondary is preferred
- 10+ years of experience in heavy construction is required
- 7 years in Alberta oil sands, oil and gas as a field mechanical coordinator
- Familiar working with large construction projects
- Familiar with Turnaround activities
- Strong leadership skills complemented with strong work ethics
- Exceptional problem solving skills to understand details and complexities of the issues
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Microsoft Office is required, Primavera is an asset
- Ability to engage as an Independent Contractor
- CSTS ticket and a valid Driver's License are required
