Adecco’s client is presently searching for a Senior/Intermediate Engineer, Acoustic Sensor Development to join its R&D team. The Engineer will be an integral member of a growing team responsible for the development of our client’s product line in the medical devices market. In this role, you will work with other team members to design and develop signal processing tools and perform detailed data analysis to detect, characterize and classify signals of interest, and will develop software architecture for future products. The selected candidate will have demonstrated experience with and deep understanding of biomechanical signals, transducer design, and multi-sensor array signal processing algorithms along with development of hardware and software for consumer oriented devices. He/she will also have at minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical or Acoustics Engineering or similar.

Duties of a Senior/Intermediate Engineer Include:

• Select sensors suitable for medical device applications
• Work with industrial design to optimize design for sensor performance
• Analysis of acoustic signals and data processing
• Assist software and hardware development teams in optimizing solutions
• Prepare product specifications for sensors
• Prepare sensor test and calibration framework
• Research and develop sensor processing algorithms for current and future application
• Experience/hands-on expertise within one or more of the following areas: Discrete/Time Frequency Transforms; Multi-rate signal processing; Image processing/ compression; Speech processing/compression techniques; Adaptive Filters; Modulation/Demodulation schemes; Channel Estimation/Equalization; General Optimization techniques; Linear Optimization; Convex Optimization; Numerical Analysis/Methods.
• Researching solutions to product challenges


Requirements of this Opportunity Include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical or Acoustics Engineering or similar; Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar preferred
• Deep understanding and demonstrated knowledge of biomechanical signals, transducer design, and multi-sensor array signal processing algorithms
• Demonstrated knowledge in development of hardware and software for consumer oriented devices
• Demonstrated capability to develop and implement novel signal processing algorithms for data capture and analysis.
• Proven problem solving and debugging skills.
• Strong background in hardware and associated experimentation including experience in the use of Design of Experiments and other relevant statistical methods.
• Ability to analyze complex problems and use a systematic approach to gain a quick solution.
• Excellent organization skills including the ability to work independently and manage own time effectively.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
