Adecco’s client is presently searching for a Senior Software Engineer, Team Lead to join its R&D team. The Senior Software Engineer, Team Lead will be an integral member of a growing team responsible for the development of our client’s product line in the medical devices market. In this role, you will work with other team members to design and develop signal processing tools and perform detailed data analysis to detect, characterize and classify signals of interest, and will develop software architecture for future products. The selected candidate will have proven prior leadership experience combined with at minimum ten (10) years of hands-on development experience in C/C++, Python or Matlab and in analytics and application. He/she will also have at minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering/Science or similar.

Duties of a Senior Software Engineer, Team Lead Include:

• Developing new software for medical devices
• Analysis of acoustic signals and data processing
• Implementation of Digital Signal Processing algorithms
• Researching solutions to product challenges
• Leading team members, including consultants to meet milestones and corporate goals
• Coordinating with, and supporting other functional groups within the organization
• Present technical solutions, schematics etc. to audiences of varying technical expertise in a clear and concise manner
• Interface with 3rd party vendors as required
• Provide regular and timely progress reports and updates on deliverables


Requirements of this Opportunity Include:

• Minimum 10 years of hands on development experience in C/C++, Python or Matlab
• Minimum 10 years of hands on analytics development and application
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering/Science; post graduate degree desired
• Some knowledge of audio signal processing
• Experience working with and debugging software on hardware components
• Demonstrated knowledge of machine learning or strong background in mathematics and statistics
• Demonstrated knowledge of numerical algorithms and principles of digital signal processing
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and act as a mediating force among groups
• Proven problem solving and debugging skills
• Experience in management of consultants and contractors is desirable
• Ability to analyze complex problems and use a systematic approach to gain a quick solution
• Excellent organization skills including the ability to work independently and manage own time effectively
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and presentation skills
• Proven experience mentoring and managing other developers


Asset Qualifications:

• Experience with software development life cycle and OOA & OOD methodologies
• Experience in medical device development
• Experience in app development for tablets and phones
• Experience with audio processing algorithms
• Experience implementing solutions for embedded systems
• Knowledge of UI technologies
• Windows, Linux, Android, iOS
• Knowledge of GIT and JIRA or similar tools
