Roevin IT, a division of Adecco, is looking for a competent technical PHP developer with sound technical knowledge in service oriented architectures (SOA) to work with one of our top client in the video game industry. The position is located in downtown Montreal and it is for an 8 month contract.

Success in this role requires a solid background in web development, distributed application development, service-orientation, security, SOA (REST and SOAP), and large-scale web services with PHP. Candidate needs to be a strong individual contributor that is capable of providing technical support to remote teams of engineers to enhance delivery of SOA-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain and enhance an existing SOA implementation in Php
Acquire and interpret business requirements, create technical artifacts, and determine the most efficient and appropriate solution design.
Deliver integration solutions leveraging the capability of SOA Expertise for clients across application processes while adhering to the enterprise architecture, data security, and data management standards
Write integration test scripts and provide support during user acceptance testing
Provide technical training, support and development (coding, process, environment) expertise to the development team.
Create development estimates for new projects, modules and sprints.
Demonstrate good teamwork and the ability to work to tight deadlines as required.


Strong skilled PHP developer with front-end experience and backed experience
Strong SOA development with experience in developing SOAP and REST services with PHP
Very technical hands-on person who codes mostly everyday
Familiarity with Unix/Linux and Windows Environments
Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science preferred), Master’s degree is a plus.
Strong SQL experience (MySQL, SQL Server or Oracle)


4+ years of experience in software development with PHP
2+ years of experience of with SOA and web services with PHP
Demonstrated ability to lead the design, implementation and delivery of substantial software components.
Participated as a developer in large-scale systems with multiple integration points
Track record that demonstrates an understanding and application of engineering best-practices
Ability to understand customer requirements, objectives and engineered products accordingly
Work with multidisciplinary teams, remote teams and virtual teams.
Developed excellent verbal and written communication skills that engaged both customers and engineers that developed trust and accountability in a quality-oriented environment.
