Adecco is currently recruiting for a Senior Technical Writer for a 16-week contract within the federal Government. The Senior Technical Writer must currently hold a valid security clearance at the enhanced level.

The Senior Technical Writer will be responsible for:

- Conducting in-depth research and analysis in transportation-related topics, regulatory guidance, and air, rail, road and marine
- Collaborating with project team members, subject matter experts, business analysts, clients and partners to identify requirements and recommending revisions or changes in scope, format, and content
- Writing new web content, revising/editing or rewriting existing content, copyediting and proofreading
- Applying standards consistent with the Web Content Style Guide and plain language principles
- Researching and applying Web Renewal Initiative web content specification requirements
- Reviewing/editing project documents for clarity, plain language, consistency, and grammatical correctness
- Developing/editing communications products and technical documentation as needed.

The Senior Technical Writer should demonstrate experience in the following areas:

- Experience in the planning, production and implementation of a variety of communications products (5+ years)
- Experience researching and analyzing technical documents and complex web content
- Experience writing and editing user-centric web content
- Experience using plain language principles and designated style guides and information architecture and content specifications (2+ years)
- Experience analyzing web analytics and usability testing results
- Experience working within a Government of Canada project environment
- Experience writing and editing web content and communications products in the context of the Government of Canada's Web Renewal Initiative (6+ months).
- Certificate, diploma, or degree, in the area of specialization, from a recognized post secondary institution is required
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
