Our client, located in Ottawa’s west end, is presently searching for a Team Manager to join its customer service team. The Team Manager is responsible for the overall completion of the team’s day-to-day activities related to assigned customer accounts. The selected candidate will have previous people-management experience and proven customer service experience. This is a contract leading to permanent opportunity offering full time hours, growth opportunities, and medical/dental benefits once permanent.

Responsibilities of a Team Manager include:

• Oversees the day-to-day operation of the customer service team;
• Maintains positive communication with clients and internal team members;
• Ensures workload of the team is balanced and communicates any needs for additional resources to senior management;
• Identifies opportunities for improvement to team/staff productivity and re-trains as necessary;
• Acts as a positive and motivational leader for the team who encourages employee involvement (lead by example);
• Maintains and nurtures a positive relationship with internal clients, external customers, partners and team managers;
• Supports HR functions including attendance management, objective setting, completion of performance reviews, coaching and performance improvement plans, and recruitment activities;
• Proactively works to address or identify any client issues, cost saving opportunities or initiatives that may benefit the company, its clients and partners;
• Ensures established processes related to order management, inventory management, ticket administration and reporting are completed accurately, on a timely basis and in line with contractual commitments;
• Other duties as required.

Requirements for this role include:

• At minimum two-to-five years of people-management experience in a customer service environment;
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills;
• Proven customer service experience;
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities;
• Ability to write reports and analyze data;
• Positive and fair attitude with excellent listening skills;
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally at all levels;
• Desire to be a part of a fast paced, solution oriented environment;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
