Adecco is currently hiring for a temporary, full-time Accounting Assistant in Ottawa, ON to work for our client, a Canadian leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of diagnostic home sleep apnea recorders. This is an ideal role for an individual who wants to make in impact in their role and contribute to the goals of the organization . This is a small team and would not be a fit for someone who is looking to move into a CFO or VP of Finance in a few years

  • Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Controller and processing Bank reconciliations both Canadian and US
  • Creating purchase orders, generating Invoices and leading client notification calls
  • Performing Wire Transfers Canada/US/Euro currencies and generating cheques
  • Act as a liaison with Purchasing agent and ,anaging Wire transfer spreadsheet
  • Assisting Controller with audits and using of Accountedge (Formerly MYOB)
  • Payroll preparation and entering using Deluxe Payroll both hourly and salaried
  • Accountable for monthly US sales tax returns
  • Qualifications:

  • Accounting software experience, Accountedge, Sage, Quickbooks is preferred
  • Minimum 1-year experience in Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable
  • Strong Customer Service skills and experience handling customer iquiries on the phone
  • Able to work at client site full time and able to follow direction and work independently
  • Advanced computer skills, excel, word, outlook
  • Able to prioritize and meet tight deadlines
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
