Adecco is currently hiring for a permanent, full-time Third and Fourth Year Apprentice (Truck & Transport) for our client, a globally known industrial company located in Fort McMurray, AB.

In this role, you will be responsible for Running Repairs, Preventative Maintenance programs, and shop work. Specialized in troubleshooting with quick and accurate assessments and prompt estimates for repair times and specific parts that are required. If you do, this job is for you!


  • Pay rate: $55.60 per hour + we offer RRSP matching and excellent shared group benefits – OT is paid after 8 hours and for all hours on weekends.
  • Location: Fort McMurray, AB, located in the Taiganova Eco Industrial Park (it’s about 5 minutes from Eagle Ridge) | candidates must have their own accommodations and transportation within the region.
  • Shifts: 7 days on, 7 days off |12-hour day shifts; totaling 84 hours per rotation.

  • Job responsibilities include:

  • Perform all aspects of truck and transport diagnosis, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
  • Complete routine self-generated work, and daily work order requests for repairs and service.
  • Complete estimates and maintain accurate reporting and documentation on performed work.
  • Interaction with customers to provide service details as required.
  • Mentor and train apprentices as needed.
  • Actively participate in the shop safety program and maintain strict adherence to OH&S guidelines.
  • Contribute to general housekeeping and organization within the shop.
  • To qualify, you should:

  • 5 or more years’ experience as a Journeyperson or Red Seal Technician OR Third OR fourth year apprentice in Heavy Equipment Trade (Truck & Transport).
  • Commercial Vehicle Inspection (CVIP) is preferred.
  • Candidates must provide their own tools.
  • Class 5 driver’s license is required, but Class 1 or Class 3 license with Air Brakes is preferred.
  • Experience with Freightliner, Detroit Diesel, and/or Cummins engines is preferred.
  • Recent experience with Tractor Trailer such as Kenworth, Peterbilt, International is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a diverse workforce and independently.
  • Must be physically fit to complete the tasks assigned which involves extensive walking, climbing, and working in awkward positions, along with carrying of heavy materials.
