Adecco is currently hiring for a full-time Area Inspector to work a long-term contract at one of Canada's largest oil and gas companies in Cold Lake, AB.  Within this dynamic position, you will act as the site facility integrity inspector under IOR’s Pressure Equipment Integrity Management Program (PEIMP) at IOR field sites, and support the implementation and sustainment of the ABSA approved PEIMP.

  • Location: Cold Lake, AB | 8 AM – 5 PM

  • Shifts: Monday - Friday

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance as the regulatory subject contact for the jurisdictional pressure equipment Safety Codes Acts and Regulations

  • Manage the company’s in-service inspection activities

  • Review and accept final visual inspection and NDE reports from third-party inspectors

  • Action inspection findings from third-party inspectors

  • Provide assistance in inspection scope development, planning and execution

  • Ensure standards are met for:

    •  the inspection of in-service pressure equipment

    •  the inspection and servicing of pressure relief devices (PRDs)

    • repairs to pressure equipment

    • documentation management

    • reporting and timely follow-up to non-conformances, corrective actions, or monitoring

    • coordinating internal audits to ensure compliance with inspection standards

    • continuous improvement initiatives with third-party inspection companies

  • Self-perform the following visual inspections 

    • Inspection pack walk downs

    • Internal inspections

    • Installation inspections

    • External inspections

  • Draft repair procedures under the direction of senior inspectors

  • Communicate and coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Planning, Engineering, and Integrity

  • Mentor and provide guidance to contractors acting as owner’s inspectors

  • Provide verbal and written notification to Regulators of vessel repairs and alterations

  • Assist site lead or chief inspector in S/D planning and execution

  • Participate in the assessment of third-party contractors

  • Verify and attest the NDE contractor’s competency assessment process for NDE personnel

  • Assist the site lead or chief inspector in the implementation of the NCR process at site

  • Assist in managing the verification and measurement (V&M) program for the PEIMP

Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • ABSA In-service inspector certification and API 510 certification. Additional certifications are an asset

  • Working knowledge or experience with some of the following:

    • Materials design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria

    • Oil and gas facilities design, construction, and operations

    • Corrosion, welding, fabrication, inspection techniques, coatings systems and non-metallics

    • Repairs and alterations of pressure equipment and/or tanks

    • Risk Based Inspection

  • Strong safety mindset/culture demonstrated during all aspects of work

  • Strong Communication, interpersonal and resolution skills

  • Strong planning, organizational, and decision-making skills

  • Able to plan work and execute against objectives in an independent manner

  • Have appropriate technical skills to appraise the work of others and to make sound business decisions

  • Able to follow–up, resolve and close issues and items promptly

  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
