Adecco is currently recruiting for a permanent, full-time Assistant Sales Manager for a leading furniture and home decor store based in Ottawa, ON. Our client is looking for an Assistant Sales Manager with experience selling furniture or large home décor (or similar), a friendly personality, customer-oriented attitude and an interest in home furnishings. Our client strives on team work environment and quality customer service.
The successful candidate must be available to work weekdays including evening shifts, as well as, weekends. The store hours are: Monday to Friday 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM – Weekends 10:00 AM to 5:00/6:00 PM.
The Assistant Sales Manager will have the following responsibilities: 
• Provide the best experience to encourage clients to return by demonstrating sound knowledge of products, service and Company; 
• Manage daily operations of the retail store engaged in providing products and services to clientele; 
• Develop and implement sale strategies with Store Manager to ensure monthly store targets are achieved and sustain overall profitability of store operations; 
• Coordinate sales promotion activities/events and oversee preparation of merchandise displays for store; 
• Train and ensure sales representatives are aware and in compliance with new sales initiatives/targets, policies and/or program established; 
• Plans and develops work schedules and assigns sales representatives to specific duties when needed.
The Assistant Sales Manager must meet the following mandatory requirements:
• 3 years minimum experience in retail sales;
• 2 years’ experience in similar role in a retail environment or supervisory role;
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving, interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills;
• Thrives in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment;
• Experienced in meeting and exceeding sales goals and maintaining lasting relationship with clients;
• Strong experience sales or other larger home decor sales, as well as customer service;
• Committed to meeting personal goals and team goals;
• Good communication skills and excellent presentation;
• Ability to work with layouts/ displays and color coordination;
• Bilingualism in French and English considered a strong asset.
