Associate Engineer - Data Analysis Integration

Adecco is currently hiring for an Associate Engineer–Data Analysis Integration for our Medical Manufacturing client in Ottawa West. This is a 1-year contract opportunity offering full time hours, Monday – Friday. The salary for this position will be determined based on education and experience.

As a member of our New Product Introduction Team, you will play a key role in improving product performance by helping automate manual tasks and help build new data infrastructure from scratch. You will use engineering principals to work with R&D, Design Transfer, and Product Engineering staff in a collaborative environment to develop, validate and implement new data analysis scripts that save your peers’ time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Convert data analysis methods currently performed in Excel/JMP/Minitab into R/Python/SQL
  • Compose validation and execute test protocols.
  • Attend cross-functional team meetings to share and gather information.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest technical developments in related areas, assess and integrate appropriate changes to work practices.
  • Develop data models and dashboards in PowerBI.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechatronics, mechanical, electrical or computer engineering with courses in robotics, computer science and statistics.
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills; critical thinking skills;
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts and statistics.
  • Effective at dealing with a variety of people and understanding/communicating their requirements.
  • Self-directed, proactive and not easily discouraged.
  • Excellent organizational, planning and scheduling skills.
  • Good oral/written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of R and Python or other scripting language
  • Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Language, relational database design knowledge.
  • Power BI
  • C#/WPF/MVVM is considered an asset.
  • Experience with SAS JMP/Minitab is considered an asset.
  • User interface design, software documentation and validation experience.
  • Previous manufacturing software development experience considered an asset.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an important asset.
  • Experience working in an ISO and FDA regulated environment is an asset.
  • Experience with LEAN Six Sigma manufacturing principles is an asset.
