Autobody Technician

Position Overview:

Adecco is seeking a skilled and experienced Autobody Technician to join our client’s team. As an Autobody Technician, you will play a crucial role in repairing and restoring damaged vehicles to their original condition. Your expertise in autobody repair, painting, and general vehicle maintenance will be essential in ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and delivering exceptional results. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for precision workmanship.

Responsibilities:

  1. Vehicle Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of damaged vehicles to identify the extent of repairs required, both internally and externally, using specialized tools and equipment.

  2. Autobody Repair: Perform a wide range of autobody repairs, including dent removal, frame straightening, panel replacement, and welding, to restore vehicles to their pre-accident condition.

  3. Surface Preparation: Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by sanding, masking, and priming, ensuring a smooth and even finish.

  4. Painting: Apply paint using industry-standard techniques, including mixing and matching colors, spray painting, and blending, to achieve a flawless and consistent appearance.

  5. Refinishing: Perform refinishing tasks such as clear coat applications, color sanding, buffing, and polishing to enhance the quality and shine of the finished product.

  6. Parts Replacement: Remove and replace damaged parts, such as bumpers, fenders, doors, and glass, ensuring proper fitment and alignment.

  7. Quality Control: Inspect completed repairs for quality and accuracy, addressing any imperfections or deficiencies before finalizing the job.

  8. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of repairs performed, parts used, and work hours for billing and insurance purposes.

  9. Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations while working with hazardous materials, tools, and equipment.

  10. Customer Service: Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, addressing any concerns and providing accurate estimates for repair costs and timelines.

Requirements:

  1. Experience and Education: Proven experience as an Autobody Technician, with a minimum of [X] years in the autobody repair industry. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and additional certifications in autobody repair or automotive technology are highly desirable.

  2. Technical Skills: Proficient in autobody repair techniques, including dent removal, welding, panel replacement, and frame straightening. Strong knowledge of painting and refinishing processes, color matching, and surface preparation.

  3. Tools and Equipment: Familiarity with a wide range of autobody tools and equipment, such as air tools, sanders, spray guns, and frame alignment systems. Ability to safely operate and maintain these tools.

  4. Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail to ensure precision workmanship and deliver high-quality repairs.

  5. Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and solve complex autobody repair challenges efficiently and effectively.

  6. Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  7. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers, colleagues, and suppliers effectively.

  8. Safety Consciousness: A commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment, following all safety protocols and regulations.

  9. Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy parts, standing for extended periods, and working in various positions.
