Health Sciences degree strongly preferred, but will look at other related skills and experience. Medical terminology, Insurance, group benefits experience strongly preferred/considered assets.


Our Client's largest Group Benefits clients is SISIP Financial, an organization that provides financial products and services exclusively to the military community. SISIP Financial understands that careers in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) have unique requirements and needs, and that is why its financial products and services are tailored to the military lifestyle. The SISIP Services Department administers aspects of the plan on behalf of SISIP Financial, dealing both with serving and former members of the CAF.

SISIP Services is seeking two action-oriented individuals with strong team building, relationship management, and problem solving skills to join their fast paced team as Long Term Disability Case Managers on a 15 month contract. If successful in the position, there is presently availability in one position for permanence. The positions are bilingual required (English/French).

In this role, you will be responsible for the analysis and adjudication of Long Term Disability claims, taking into account contractual, medical and investigative information in an effort to make competent and timely disability determinations. These duties rely on your sound analysis of the disability contract and your ability to think strategically and to apply good judgment. Communication skills are also a vital part of this position as you will deal directly with serving and released CAF members.

Your responsibilities will include:
-Assessment of long term disability claims including the identification, and analysis of medical, contractual, and eligibility information
-Development of case management plans
-Communicate/consult with claimants, internal/external providers and government agencies
-Provide technical direction by reviewing and identifying file development needs
Qualifications

As the preferred candidate, you will possess:
-Bilingual (English/French) required for all positions.
-Disability management and/or Group Benefit knowledge
-Previous case management experience within an insurance/financial organization
-Familiarity with medical terminology
-Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Lotus Notes
-Excellent organizational skills
-Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
-Solid office administration skills
-Strong customer service experience in a demanding environment
-Excellent problem-solving and decision making skills
-Influencing and negotiation skills
-Flexibility to balance conflicting priorities
-Analytical skills with a close attention to detail

Additional helpful attributes:
-Insurance claims knowledge or experience
-Sound knowledge of medical terminology, medical management and pharmacology would be an asset
-Knowledge of Canadian Forces terminology would be an asset

Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm
