Bilingual Data Entry Clerk

Adecco has partnered with the Department of National Defence and is currently hiring for a temporary, full-time Bilingual Data Entry Clerk located in Trenton, ON. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in English and French and have previous experience or an educational background in file management.

  • Responsibilities:

  • Enter and record new civilian and military beacons in addition to transfers and updates in the Canadian Beacon Registry databases and ensure accuracy and verification of information
  • Provide customer service to the public by responding to requests by phone, email, online or by mail for the purpose of registration, transferring or updating 406MHz beacon
  • Respond to requests by phone, email, online or by mail for information on COSPASSARSAT and 406MHz beacons; the Canadian Beacon Registry and its usefulness as a tool to aid SAR providers in identifying and locating any persons sending a distress signal from a 406MHz beacon
  • Respond to requests by phone, email, online or by mail for information and/or guidance on Canadian regulations, testing and disposal as they relate to 406MHz emergency beacons
  • Represent the CBR at trade shows, conferences, seminars, and information sessions for the purpose of providing and obtaining information and guidance on the registration, disposal and usage of 406MHz beacons
  • Follow up with beacon owners after obtaining information from the CMCC and JRCCs post activation for the purposes of registration of all 406MHz beacons and data accuracy
  • Respond to requests for information by the CMCC and JRCCs regarding 406MHz beacon registration, usage, and regulations
  • Function and organize the Canadian Beacon Registry and maintain beacon registry paper file
  • Prepare, record, and distribute internal and external correspondence
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Must be fluent in English and French
  • College degree or previous experience in file management is preferred
  • Ability to pass a criminal record check
  • Ability to pass a Canadian Security Clearance check
