Adecco’s client in Ottawa has an immediate need for a Bilingual Help Desk Technician.  The Bilingual Help Desk Technician will provide support for networks, servers, desktops, desktop application software, and peripheral and mobile devices for private, small business clients.  He/she will work remotely from our client’s central location to determine problems, report incidents, resolve issues and escalate as necessary.  The ideal candidate is a recent graduate from a related post-secondary program OR has at minimum two years of technical help desk experience, with excellent English and French communication skills.


This is a contract leading to permanent opportunity, suitable for a candidate with availability to begin working immediately.  The hours will be full-time Monday to Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.  The compensation offered will be based on level of experience.



Duties of the Help Desk Technician Include:


-           Work with clients remotely to resolve technical issues related to networks, servers, desktops (PC & Mac), desktop application software, peripheral devices, and mobile devices

-           Escalate problems as required; occasionally handle low level escalated issues

-           Maintain communication with customers and management during the problem resolution process

-           Properly document issues and resolutions in our ticketing system

-           Update and maintain accurate client documentation, records and procedures

-           Review and update help desk documentation as assigned

-           Review and recommend modifications to procedures

Requirements Include:

-           Completion of a related post-secondary program OR at minimum two years of experience providing technical support

-           Microsoft, Fortinet, and other IT certifications are desirable but not required; CompTIA A+ and Network+ will be required within six months of hire

-           Ability to effectively communicate by phone, email, and in person

-           Proficiency with all current Windows operating systems mandatory; Apple desirable

-           Active Directory experience

-           Server 2008-2016 knowledge

-           TCP/IP skillset

-           Mobile Device experience

-           Ability to write clearly and professionally

-           Demonstrated ability to achieve successful outcomes in handling difficult situations

-           Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills

-           Must work well both independently and as part of a team

-           Ability to manage time, multiple priorities and follow projects through to completion
