Adecco Professional is currently partnering with a client to help hire for a Bookkeeper job opening in Toronto, ON for a 6-month temporary timeline (with potential to extend).  This opportunity will allow you to work in the corporate office of a Union and put your versatile bookkeeping experience alongside your administrative skills to use. The ideal candidate would possess exceptional organizational skills, have at least 2+ years’ experience working in a bookkeeper or comparable role combined with a flexible and can-do personality. If this sounds like you, read on to learn more!

The responsibilities of the Bookkeeper job opening in Toronto, ON may include, but are not limited to:

- Receive, sort and verify invoices; prepare cheques for sign off, mail out and file

- Post to the GL entries from disbursements, cash receipts, petty cash etc

- Reconcile and post credit card transactions; process and reconcile expense reports

- Enter and reconcile statements and schedules, post all transactions

- Prepare various summaries and reports

- Maintain the payroll journal for members and staff; calculate union dues and other varied deductions

- Typing up documents, summaries and reports; data processing included

- Assist with monthly audit preparations

- Bank reconciliations; expense processing and payout, government remittances and more

- Filing paperwork and items to ensure an organized area; mail related duties

- Various related tasks as assigned; flexibility is key!

The qualifications for the Bookkeeper job opening in Toronto, ON include:

- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a varied Bookkeeper or Accountant capacity required

- Proficient all in MS Office systems; advanced Excel and open to learning new systems

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills to liaise with internal teams and external accounting firm key

- Highly detailed and strengths with math/calculations as well as strong follow up skills - - Strong organization skills and the ability to take initiative and problem solve as second nature

- Fully vaccinated is a requirement
