Our client, in St. Catherine, ON, who is a large industrial automation distributor is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to join their team.

The Branch Manager reports directly to the Regional Manager and in turn is responsible for supervising the employees attached to the Branch, including the inside sales, operations, quotes, warehouse and counter sales staff.

Branch Manager Responsibilities:

  • Develops and recommends sales strategies, marketing objectives, including sales volume and profit forecasts to the Regional Manager.
  • Evaluates and identifies needs for sales training programs to reflect changes in sales requirements and develop related skill sets.
  • Recognize and respond to market indicators related to products, pricing, and opportunities for sales platform enhancements.
  • Directly manage all branch staff – effectively select, motivate, and manage the performance and development of your team.
  • Prepares or ensures preparation of work schedules in such a way that work flow for all areas (including counter sales, warehouse and inside sales functions) is adequate to ensure compliance with customer service standards.
  • Ensures proper implementation and application of company policies and procedures in general, but specifically those regarding inventory control, delivery, billing and collection, and security.
  • Be accountable for Branch P&L.
  • Monitors expense levels within the Branch and ensures that corrective action is taken to control/reduce costs to ensure the attainment of budget.
  • Collaborate with inventory control team to ensure the branches inventory is aligned to sales demand, in order to maintain a high local order fill rate.
  • Branch Manager Qualifications:

  • Must have knowledge of MRO distribution (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul)
  • Sales experience is a prerequisite
  • The ability to lead an inside sales team to ensure the team maintains a clean order book.
  • The ability to lead an outside sales force, with respect to influencing where the sales team’s call capacity is invested, and to train sales skills.
  • Experience with SAP (will be considered as an asset)
  • Have a basic financial acumen, in order to understand how to read the branches financial statements.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft excel, and ideally a business degree.
  • Previous experience in a branch structured business or retail management background. Knowledge of bearing will be considered as an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team spirit
  • Branch Manager Compensation:

    Base Salary + Bonus/profit sharing, 2-3 weeks paid vacation & full benefits.
