Building Automation Specialist

Adecco is currently hiring for a permanent, full-time Building Automation Specialist for our client, a well-known Canadian company that provides efficient energy solutions for buildings and cities located in Vaughan, ON. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing electronic control systems as well as providing general service, repair and maintenance of the building systems. If you have previous industry experience and knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital control systems, this job is for you!

  • Job responsibilities include:

  • Diagnosing and repairing electronic control systems
  • Investigates and implements energy conservation measures in the building automation systems
  • Writing and testing modifications in automation software languages.
  • Communicating with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site
  • Meeting regularly with customers to become familiar with operational problems
  • Keeping customers informed on outstanding issues and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, and or repairs
  • Providing general service, repair and maintenance of the building systems including HVAC automation systems and other low voltage systems
  • Compiling job documentation, such as certificate of completion, customer training forms, training certificates and punch lists
  • Completing all required project and service documentations properly
  • Reporting any problems or changes to management immediately
  • Adhering to all Johnson Controls and customer safety standards
  • Conducting extensive self-study (reading, research, and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency
  • Completing certifications and providing support as required by the company
  • Providing after-hours remote site support and emergency response on a rotating basis with other specialists
  • Completing a range of recurring preventive maintenance tasks and systems checks to ensure the systems operate optimally
  • To qualify, you should:

  • Technical degree in mechanical engineering, electronics, computer science, automation engineering or a combination thereof (4 years)
  • 2 years of previous industry experience
  • Knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems and ability to write and test modifications in automation software languages
  • Must be able to ensure high level of custom satisfaction
  • Ability to manage assigned work to meet professional execution to customer satisfaction
  • Must be able to pass an extensive background check
  • Must have a valid Ontario’s Driver’s License.
