Adecco is currently hiring for a Business Analyst in Downtown Toronto. The Business Analyst will provide support to both the rollout of the above project and the business as usual (BAU) reconciliation processes by performing exception/account/process analysis, preparing reporting, coordinating and facilitating project/operational meetings. To be considered for this Business Analyst role, you must have a University degree in Finance or Accounting with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant industry experience

This is a 1-year contract and has a pay rate of $35.00/hour 

Business Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Prepare management reporting for aged and high-risk exceptions
  • Work with the Reconciliations teams and the business operations teams in middle and back offices to resolve exceptions
  • Support procedure compilation and updates with the Reconciliations teams in North America and the Philippines
  • Support internal operational meetings with the Reconciliations teams and the business operations teams in middle and back offices
  • Support internal and external audits on the reconciliation processes
  • Maintain documentation and tracking of system enhancement and process improvement requests
  • Coordinate training plans of the new platform across the Reconciliations, middle and back office teams
  • Support testing and implementation of the new Reconciliation system
  • Support the compilation of account and file inventory lists for the roll-out of the Global Reconciliation System
  • Work with the external vendors to set up recon source file connectivity with the brokers and custodians
Business Analyst Qualifications : 
  • University degree in Finance or Accounting with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of the reconciliations process
  • Knowledge of a range of asset types, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and how they are accounted for in the accounting book of records, booked in Bloomberg, Custodian books of records, and how they are represented in SWIFT messages.
  • Understanding of Investment Operations and data needs through the trading lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with Back and Middle Office functions as it relates in Wealth and Asset Management
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Visio is an asset
  • Experience with SimCorp Dimension, Bloomberg, SWIFT (primarily MT535, MT940/950) and TLM is an asset
  • Accounting designation an asset
  • Ability to work well under pressure and actively follow up on deliverables and requests
  • Ability to establish priorities to meet tight and competing deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills
  • Strong detailed orientation
