Adecco is currently recruiting for a Business Architect - Senior for a 6-Month contract with our Crown Corporation Client in Kanata, ON. The successful candidate must hold a valid Reliability Security Clearance or be eligible for it.



The Business Architect - Senior will have the following responsibilities:

-    Mentor and coach less experienced Business Analyst team members in carrying out business analysis related activities, and coordinate and delegate tasks as required

-    Define and utilize relevant business analysis and business architecture techniques and methodologies to perform solution analysis and design, this could include but is not limited to:

o    Develop domain specific roadmaps working closely with Enterprise Architecture (capability mapping methodology)

o    Requirements management (requirements traceability, baselining, etc.)

o    Industry analysis (benchmark studies, SWOT, etc.)

o    Requirements elicitation (prototyping, reverse engineering, focus groups, interviews, etc.)

o    Requirements analysis such as analyzing requirements, constructing workflow charts and diagrams, studying system capabilities, writing specifications (process modeling, organization modeling, use cases, etc.)

o    Solution assessment and validation (IT Reviews, Feasibility Assessments, support of the user acceptance testing, defect and issue reporting, etc.)

-    Drive the definition, design, optimization, improvement, and approved changes to new and existing business processes and IT solutions via development of business and functional requirements

o    Identify the current and future-state business processes

o    Help the business stakeholders envision the future and how their work will need to be road mapped and prioritized to support the future

o    Determine operational objectives by studying critical business functions (“CBFs”), gathering information, evaluating output requirements and formats

-    Provide continuous improvement services to improve existing business processes and inform the Business Solution Delivery leadership team of potential continuous improvement opportunities

-    Manage process conformance and compliance as appropriate (e.g. PCI)

-    Support change management activities as appropriate

-    Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends

-    Support the BDA by providing business insight for the development of strategic solutions aligned to architecture, standards, principles and best practices



The Business Architect - Senior must meet the following mandatory requirements:

-    Academic: university degree in business or information systems or equivalent experience or combination thereof,

-    Project Management Professional (PMP)

-    Experience in contributing to the success of a range of small-to-medium initiatives with escalating levels of complexity and business criticality

-    Experience in a business analyst role and / or in progressively advancing roles within IT

-    Client Management: Experienced in effectively interacting and communicating with business teams; can consolidate business requirements and translate them into IT deliverables

-    Business architecture; Experience in capability mapping to ensure tactical and strategic business goals are addressed

-    Business analysis: familiar with business engineering system concepts and principles as well as complex modeling techniques, able to align business unit sub-processes to enterprise business processes and able to lead functional requirement walkthrough and quality reviews

-    Value management: can identify the effectiveness and completeness of business and technology strategies and ensure alignment with IT and other applicable cross-organization strategies

-    Domain knowledge: deep knowledge of business context and mode of operations 

-    Excellent understanding of business context and mode of operations

-    Proven ability to identify, formalize, and problem solve business needs

-    Exceptional interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation

-    Mature perspective on architecture principles and frameworks

-    Understands principles of iterative development, and able to document business requirements as Agile user stories



Nice to have:

-     Graduate degree in Business Administration (MBA)

-    Certifications:

o    Certified business analysis professional (CBAP)

o     BABOK

o    ITIL foundations

o    TOGAF certification
