Adecco is currently hiring a permanent, full-time Business Development Director in Markham, ON to work for our client, in a start up division for Service Robots within an established company. In this position, you will play a key role in creating and implementing the company’s overall strategic objectives, ensuring that all sales targets are met or exceeded and leading a marketing & lead generation team. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit and interest in identifying & qualifying net-new opportunities, leading sales activities and maturing existing account relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a sales pipeline from a combination of company provided, as well as self-generated sales opportunities.
  • Manage and coach team members, account teams and industry leaders through the various steps of the firm’s sales cycle.
  • Conduct presentations in person to demonstrate the value of solutions.
  • Consistently meet individual monthly/quarterly targets as set by management.
  • Establish and manage strategic relationships, alliances and networks.
  • Develop, manage and implement new sales initiatives and work closely with managers to ensure that sales initiatives align with the requirements of other business areas and the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Maximize profitability on all potential sales opportunities, and prepare, respond to and manage client proposals.
  • Formally answer Requests for Proposals when applicable and develop and deliver client presentations.
  • Ensure that all methodologies are adhered to and consistently applied across the organization and adhere to all company guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to contract signing, to ensure that the sale is both profitable and can be successfully implemented, sustained, and supported by the business.
  • Develop accurate, high quality and professional sales team.
  • Contribute strategic, operational, and tactical advice to management team.
  • Travel as directed by the management team from time to time.
  • Work with HR on hiring, training, employee relations, performance reviews, and employee incentives.
  • Qualifications: 

  • Post-secondary degree in business or related for broad business acumen.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of related professional experience (within the same industry is preferred).
  • Experience in driving sales from initial conversations, through proposals, presentations, and negotiation.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
  • Experience improving and innovating sales processes and Superior coordination and team building skills.
  • Ability to be coached and trained on new strategies for effective sales and account management.
  • Strong sales background with a drive to sell, build and maintain relationships.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with strict deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environment with a positive “can-do” attitude to work.
  • Strong attention to detail and proven ability to conduct work with honesty and integrity.
  • Experience in software sales is a strong plus.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
