Adecco is currently hiring for a full-time CAD Drafter/Designer to work a long-term contract at one of Canada's largest petroleum refiners in Edmonton, AB.  In this role, you will be responsible to develop and maintain 2D CAD drawings using software such as AutoCAD (required), Microstation and/or SmartSketch. In addition to technical ability, the ideal candidate should demonstrate sound communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review engineering drawing and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards
  • Develop computer generated drawings, isometrics, details, plans, schedules, and data sheets
  • Prepare dimensional drawings for layouts and nondimensional drawings such as one lines, etc.
  • Revise drawings based on instructions from engineers, etc.
  • Communicate effectively and work with other members of the design team of each
    individual project assignment. Interface management across disciplines
  • Document control support, database administration, and progress reporting
  • Coordinate and communicate various issues among the company and contractor’s engineering team that affect the discipline engineering drawings
  • Keep Supervisor informed of discipline engineering progress, deviations, and execution concerns
  • Support internal engineering general interest or Global Practice initiatives as requested by Supervisor
  • Requirements and Qualifications: 
  • Associates degree in Drafting or equivalent from a two-year college or technical
    school is required
  • Previous experience in a closely related position is required
  • Must have experience working in an engineering office and understand document control and revision along with the stages of document submissions during project development and execution
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years AutoCAD experience along with Microsoft Office products such as Word,Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and PDF Maker such as Bluebeam Revu.
  • Database experience is required and experience using Autodesk Vault would be an asset
  • General knowledge of 2D CAD software AutoCAD/Microstation/SmartSketch is also a must
  • Must have above average written and verbal English skills and be able to communicate effectively as there is no room for error or misunderstanding
  • Must be extremely detail orientated to produce high quality work
  • Must be extremely organized, efficient and have the ability to multi-task while working in a fast-paced and demanding environment to complete as-builts within a reasonable time frame
  • Must be reliable, punctual and bring your whole self to work to focus on the job role.
  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
