Our client is a Canadian Financial Services company currently seeking a Long-Term Disability Manager for their Kitchener location. The Long-Term Disability Manager must understand medical terminology and have strong customer service skills. The Long-Term Disability Manager will be responsible for the assessment of long-term disability claims, the development of specific case management plans, and key decisions. It is a one-year contract that pays $27.00 per hour.


Long-Term Disability Manager Responsibilities:

• Assessment of long-term disability claims including the identification, and analysis of medical, contractual, and eligibility information
• Development of case management plans
• Consistent interaction with Claimants and Clients
• Development of case management plans
• Assessment of Long-Term Disability and Waiver of Premium claims including the analysis of medical, contractual, and eligibility information in order to render a decision on the claims.

 

Long Term Disability Manager Qualifications:
• Familiarity with medical terminology;
• Analytical skills with a strong attention to detail - particularly with numbers, spelling and grammar;
• Excellent problem-solving and decision making skills
• The skills to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast paced environment;
• Very strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively deliver difficult messages to clients by telephone and in the form of very detailed letters of explanation;
• Strong customer service experience, with proven ability to build and manage relationships with external and internal clients.
• Intermediate PC skills - including data entry, MS Word and MS Excel
Special Conditions:
• Overtime may be required during peak periods
• Bilingual would be considered an asset
